Facing the Challenge of Smoking Scenes, Alexandra Gottardo's Biggest Challenge in Filming the Horror Series 'LOSMEN MELATI'

Kapanlagi.com - Actress Alexandra Gottardo faced a big challenge in the horror series titled LOSMEN MELATI. Playing the role of Melati, a 38-year-old woman, she had to perform smoking scenes using hand-rolled cigarettes.

In addition to the smoking scenes, Alexandra also mentioned that it was quite difficult to resist laughter.

"The challenge is probably because of the smoking scenes, because those hand-rolled cigarettes are a challenge to not easily burst into laughter, while I am easily amused," said Alexandra Gottardo in the Gandaria area, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (16/8/2023).

1. Alexandra is not a smoker

In real life, Alexandra is not a smoker. That's why she feels uncomfortable, especially when her voice becomes hoarse due to smoking too often.

"Yes, maybe because I'm not an active smoker, and kretek cigarettes can change the voice over time, so it's quite noticeable," she said.

"For someone who is not an active smoker, it's quite difficult, and almost every scene has the characteristic of smoking, from the beginning to the end, the difference is very obvious," Alexandra added.

2. Original Series

Dhini W. Prayogo, the Country Manager of Catchplay+ Indonesia, revealed that the series is the platform's first original content.

"We really want to create high-quality and truly Indonesian content that can also be sold internationally," said Dhini.

"We intentionally aired it on August 17th, coinciding with foreign horror content," Dhini added.

The series, directed by Mike Wiluan and Billy Christian, was planned to be released on Indonesia's Independence Day. The series, starring Alexandra Gottardo, Dwi Sasono, Fandy Christian, Kinaryosih, Imelda Therinne, Samuel Panjaitan, Bimasena, Ena Pasaribu, and Cornelio Sunny, is available for streaming on the Catchplay+ platform.
