Because of Playing the Movie 'SUSUK: CURSE OF BEAUTY', Jourdy Pranata Knows the Characteristics of People who Use Susuk

Kapanlagi.com - Jourdy Pranata, Hana Malasan, and Ersya Aurelia admitted to believing in the existence of susuk after being involved in the movie SUSUK: CURSE OF BEAUTY. Because before shooting this film, the actors really did research about susuk.

"Before shooting this film, I had heard about susuk. I believe in things that exist in another dimension. But I just ignored it like 'oh yeah, it exists'. But after shooting this film, oh yeah, susuk is real and even until now, many people still use it not only in the regions but also in the capital city. So I really believe," said Hana Malasan when met in the Prapanca area, South Jakarta some time ago.

Although Jourdy Pranata initially still feels taboo because his family is distant from such things. But after researching a lot about susuk, he began to believe that nowadays there are still many people who use susuk.

"If in my circle there is no one who uses it because I was born in Sumatra and I am very taboo about susuk for me as a Sumatran. Even the furthest person in my family has never used it. By researching about susuk, it's like 'maybe this person uses susuk'. But I have never directly seen or even been bewitched by someone who uses susuk," he said.

2. So Know Its Characteristics

Jourdy Pranata and the other actors finally know the characteristics of people who use susuk. Susuk is not only used to attract the opposite sex but also widely used for business purposes.

"Even susuk is not only on the face, like on the hands or shoulders, so for example, when someone opens their shoulder area, they can be bewitched by susuk. In other words, they can enchant people, especially the opposite sex, they can be infatuated, the opposite sex can do things beyond reason to get the attention of this guy or girl. It seems like they use susuk. Because when we researched the characteristics, it was like that," said Jourdy Pranata.

"According to me, it's not just for love, but also for work, many people use susuk on their tongue, on their lips for good marketing, for selling," added Ersya Aurelia.

3. Story of SUSUK: THE CURSE OF BEAUTY

SUSUK: THE CURSE OF BEAUTY tells the story of Laras (Hana Malasan) who wants to quit being a sex worker and repair her relationship with her sister Ayu (Ersya Aurelia). However, an accident befalls Laras. Her body continues to live, but slowly decays like a corpse.

Accompanied by Arman (Jourdy Pranata), Ayu seeks a way to heal Laras. The film, directed by Ginanti Rona, will be screened in cinemas starting from August 31, 2023.
