Failed Mediation, the Conflict between Kartika Putri & Dr. Richard Lee Continues

"There was quite a debate and in the end, I didn't want to debate, I came here not to debate but to mediate, but it turns out that we didn't reach an agreement," said Richard Lee at the Jakarta Metro Police, Friday (23/4).

Meanwhile, Kartika Putri said that out of the 3 points requested for peace in the case she reported, the first point, which is an apology according to the prepared editorial, cannot be fulfilled by Richard Lee.

"The point is the deepest apology. but maybe that's what is considered very difficult to fulfill," said Kartika Putri's legal representative, Brian Praneda.

Richard Lee cannot do it because he objects to doing it editorially. So if it's a regular apology, he will comply.

"If I'm asked to apologize, I'm willing to do it. How many times have I apologized? Four times, right? It's not a problem for me to apologize one more time, it doesn't cost me anything," he explained.

"But if I have to apologize editorially, admitting that I'm wrong, seeking popularity from him, I confess everything, I'm not willing to do it because I didn't do it," Richard Lee continued.

2. Case Continues

With the failure of mediation between the two parties, the defamation case reported by Kartika Putri against Dr. Richard Lee will continue and Richard Lee will not withdraw his report at the South Sumatra Police.

"It means that each party can proceed with their own process. What's clear is that there was a mediation process and I have made efforts to come here with good intentions for peaceful resolution, if they want peace, okay. If not, I don't know because she reported me here," Richard Lee concluded.
