Film Star 'ANAK MEDAN', Maell Lee Touched by the Farewell Scene: That's My Real Experience

Maell Lee is one of the main actors in the latest film ANAK MEDA: COCOK KO RASA, directed by Ivan Bandhito. In this film, the singer known for his comedic character from Medan plays Ucok, a young man who migrates from Medan to pursue his future.

During a press conference at XXI Epicentrum, South Jakarta, Maell revealed that there is one scene in this film that deeply touched his heart. The moment is when Ucok says goodbye and asks for his mother's blessing before leaving. Read more about it below!

"There is something I feel when I want to go away and ask for permission from my mother, that is my real experience," said Maell, Thursday (17/4/2025).

He added that the dialogue in that scene was almost exactly like when he sincerely said goodbye to his mother in real life.   "Because I went from Medan to Jakarta, asking for permission from my mother was almost like that dialogue," he revealed.

Maell also recalled how he apologized and showed respect to his mother when he was about to leave.   "Asking for forgiveness, asking for permission, bowing to my mother, I felt it deeply and I was very sad," he added.

Although he did not shed tears, Maell mentioned that his sadness came from within his heart. He admitted that the scene was one of the most emotional for him.   "Sadness doesn't have to come with tears, sadness is here (in the heart), gentlemen and ladies, that scene is very emotional for me," he concluded.

The film Anak Medan: Cocok Ko Rasa also stars Ajil Ditto, Ady Sky, and Mario Maulana. Ajil believes that the chemistry among the cast developed naturally because everyone shares a love for this project.

"One thing I noticed is that not just the four of us, but the entire cast truly loves this film Anak Medan," said Ajil.

This film, which highlights the story of friendship and the struggle to achieve dreams, is scheduled to be released simultaneously in theaters on April 24.
