Found Guilty of Domestic Violence against Nindy Ayunda, Askara Sentenced to 2 Months in Prison

Kapanlagi.com - The trial for the case of Domestic Violence (KDRT) involving defendant Askara Parasady Harsono was held at the South Jakarta District Court. In the trial, the father of two children was found guilty of committing violence against Nindy Ayunda.

As a result, the judge decided to sentence Askara Parasady Harsono to 2 months in prison. Based on the available evidence, the domestic violence against Nindy did not hinder her daily activities.

"Judging, stating that Askara Parasady Harsono has been proven guilty of intentionally committing domestic violence against Anindya, but the injury did not hinder her daily activities," said the judge during the trial on Tuesday (21/9).

"Imposing a sentence of two months in prison on the defendant. Declaring one flash drive containing photos of Anindya's bruises, a marriage certificate, and they will be returned to Anindya," the judge added.

1. Public Prosecutor Wants to Think First

Askara Parasady Harsono, who attended the trial at Salemba Detention Center virtually, has decided to accept the verdict given to him. "We accept the verdict," said Askara's legal team.

However, the Public Prosecutor chose the third option, which is to think for a week about the 2-month sentence given by the judge, "We need to think first, Your Honor."

Previously, the South Jakarta District Court had brought in two witnesses from Nindy's side. From their testimonies, the two witnesses suspected that the domestic violence committed by Askara occurred two days before Nindy left for Bali.

Nindy explained that she and her friends did plan to go to Bali for cycling. However, two days before their departure, Askara suddenly got angry and hit her. It is possible that there were words from Nindy that he didn't like, which escalated his anger.

Nindy Ayunda allegedly experienced domestic violence on October 18, 2020, before leaving for Bali for cycling. On October 19, she went to the South Jakarta Metro Police Station and underwent a medical examination.
