Gandeng Dua Personel Kotak Terdahulu, Posan Tobing Reports Tantri cs Regarding Alleged Copyright Violation

Kapanlagi.com - The dispute between the band Kotak and its former member, Posan Tobing, apparently still has not found a solution. This time, Posan Tobing again visited the Jakarta Metro Police to report the three members of the Kotak band for alleged violations of the Copyright Law.

Not alone, in addition to being accompanied by his legal counsel, Posan also brought along two other former members of Kotak, namely Pare (former vocalist) and Icez (bass). The Posan side said they took this step because there was no response from Tantri, Cella, and Chua to the summons they had previously sent.

"We file a police report against Mario Marcella Andika Putra, Swasti Sabdastantri, and Tantri Syalindri Ichlasari. We report this to the authorities because they have committed copyright violations," said Posan Tobing when met at the Jakarta Metro Police, Wednesday (6/9).

"So today is the final day because we have tried to give mediation time, we have called them but they ignored it and tended to ignore it more, and now we see the impact. This means that for us, as good citizens, there is an alleged violation of Posan's songs sung by Tantri, Chua, and Cella, which falls under the category of alleged violations of Article 9 and Article 113 of the Copyright Law number 28 of 2014, which we report today," said Jerrys, the legal counsel.

Posan also added that because of this issue, Tantri cs faces a 4-year prison sentence and a fine worth billions of rupiah.

"Four years, and the alleged fine is quite large, around Rp 3 billion," said Jerrys.

2. Disappointment of Former Personnel

In addition, on the same occasion, the two former Kotak members, Icez and Pare, also expressed their disappointment. Icez explained that Tantri cs registered the name Kotak under their own name. However, the name and logo of the band Kotak, he mentioned, were created by the first vocalist of Kotak, Pare.

"Regarding the name and logo of Kotak, it was created by Pare, but they, Chua, Tantri, and Cella registered it under their name without our knowledge and Pare's permission," concluded Icez.
