Gilang Dirga Remembers His Father's Advice Before Passing Away, Maintain Cleanliness and Health

The passing of Gilang Dirga's father, Wendy Indra, on December 31, 2025, imparted profound life lessons for this presenter. In addition to inheriting good traits as the head of the family, his father left behind simple yet impactful advice in Gilang's heart, one of which is about cleanliness.

Gilang recalled a moment from his youth when he was driving with his father. When he had to relieve himself by the roadside due to an emergency, his father gave a reprimand that the tall presenter would never forget.

"One of the things I remember the most is that my dad always reminded me, 'Wash, clean, and remember the grave.' So that's something that always sticks with me, and hopefully by following not just that advice but others as well, it can become a continuous reward for him," said Gilang.

In addition to spiritual advice, the late father was also very concerned about Gilang's health. Considering that he had a serious heart condition, he often warned Gilang to maintain a healthy lifestyle and quit smoking.

"Yes, take care of your health, don't smoke, like that. But sometimes I still tend to be rebellious when I'm hanging out with friends, I still do it occasionally. Just not as much as before," said Gilang.

The history of the father's heart disease has long been known to the family. Wendy Indra experienced his first heart attack about three years ago, which then prompted Gilang to drastically reduce his smoking habits in order to respect his father's concerns.

"Since being with Adis, because Adis also doesn't like (smokers), so I don't smoke that much anymore, especially after the first heart attack three years ago, I have really cut back a lot," he said.

Now, Gilang is committed to continuing all the good things that were taught by the late father. He believes that every good deed he does, based on his father's teachings, will become a source of rewards that will continue to flow for the deceased in the afterlife.

"Yes, basically he is a good person, he is someone who does not want to trouble his children. He is someone who... when happy it's okay not to be together, but when sad, I am right there in front for you," concluded Gilang Dirga.
