Ammar Zoni's Heart is Broken, Confident to be Free in December Now Just Depressed in Nusakambangan
This is how Ammar Zoni feels after being transferred to the Nusakambangan prison.
Kapanlagi.com - The transfer of Ammar Zoni to the Nusakambangan Super Maximum Prison has drawn strong protests from his close associate, Dr. Kamelia. She feels that the treatment received by her boyfriend is very unfair and excessive, as if Ammar is a major criminal.
In an angry tone, Dr. Kamelia compared the treatment of Ammar to that of the legendary drug lord, Freddy Budiman. She cannot understand why Ammar should be treated this way for a case that she believes is still on a small scale.
"No way (it's unfair). Like a criminal, who is that? The biggest drug dealer Freddy Budiman, right?" said Dr. Kamelia when met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, on Friday (17/10/2025). Read other news about Ammar at Liputan6.com!
He specifically highlights the video-recorded transfer process that was disseminated, where Ammar is seen with his eyes closed. According to him, it is very painful and does not consider the psychological impact on Ammar and his family, especially his children.
"It's really painful to see, his mental state must also be affected when he sees such pain. They don't think about his mental well-being; he has children, you know," he lamented.

As is known, Ammar Zoni was isolated in Nusakambangan after being suspected of involvement in drug trafficking within the Salemba Prison. This is the fourth drug case that has ensnared him.
Dr. Kamelia also regrets what she calls the "excessive framing" of this case. She feels that Ammar's status as an artist is being exploited to dramatize the situation.
"He shouldn't be treated differently just because he's an artist or whatever; it's like they are just using this moment," she said.
He emphasized that Ammar is not a dealer, but rather just an abuser who might be down on his luck.
"No, I don't think he's a dealer. He's just a drug abuser," he asserted.
Now, Ammar Zoni's side plans to take legal action, including the possibility of filing a pretrial motion, to fight what they consider to be an injustice.
