Gisela Cindy's Life in Canada Was Not Always Smooth, Once a Restaurant Server - Treated Racist

1. Restaurant Server

Gisela's work experience started as a restaurant server. At that time, her income was considered decent.

"For those who don't know, I used to work as a restaurant server for a year. I received a salary plus tips, so the pocket money was pretty good," she said.

2. Becoming a Salesperson

After working as a restaurant server, Gisela then worked as a salesperson. Since then, she has liked the retail field.

"After that, I also got a job as a sales associate at a clothing store. That's where I started to fall in love with the retail industry," said this 25-year-old woman.

3. Becoming an Assistant Manager

Not stopping there, Gisela then moved to another company and sat as an assistant manager.

"Then after that, I moved my way up in the company and also got the opportunity to work at one of the bigger brands as an assistant manager," said the star of the soap opera Boneka Poppy.

4. Manager at a Shoe Store

She worked there for 2 years because the store closed. She then became a manager at a shoe store.

"After two years in that company, I decided to move because the store actually closed. I got the opportunity to be a store manager until now at the shoe store," explained Gisela.

5. Racism Experience

In addition to various jobs, Gisela also experienced racism. Yes, as a minority, she is often belittled.

"Because they know I'm Asian, I have a very strong accent, they make comments like, 'Ew, I actually don't understand what you're saying and just another speak to another white lady,'" Gisela concluded.
