According to him, the Menteng area has produced many great figures, including Indonesian presidents. "All the presidents lived in the Menteng area, there are many. Taman Kodok is also in Menteng, there are many things, so it's worth coming to the surface at that time," he said.

In the 90s, Menteng became a gathering place for young people from various social backgrounds. However, the children of Menteng did not focus on the lives of the elite, but rather on the children from the lower class.

"That's why the story is about high school kids, but not the the have ones, rather from Menteng Pulo, Menteng Atas, Menteng Bawah, the lower class Menteng," he explained.

Besides directing, Tio also plays an important role in other creative aspects. He created the theme song for Anak Menteng as well as building the characters in the story.

"I create the story, I make the song, I create the characters, I direct it," he said.

Interestingly, this soap opera also became an opportunity for Ryan Hidayat to develop his talent in the world of directing. "And I also gave the late Ryan Hidayat a chance for the first three episodes," Tio concluded.
