Hanung Bramantyo to Direct Biopic Film about Legendary Band God Bless

Kapanlagi.com - Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the music group God Bless has made several new breakthroughs. In addition to releasing a new album and holding a concert, the band consisting of Ahmad Albar (vocals), Ian Antono (guitar), Donny Fatah (bass), Abadi Soesman (keyboard), and Fajar Satritama (drums) will also publish a book.

The book tells the story of God Bless's journey during its 50 years in the Indonesian music industry. Not only that, at the same time, a biopic film about God Bless directed by Hanung Bramantyo will also be made.

"The film will start in October, with the target release year being 2024. Hopefully everything goes smoothly," said Denny MR, a representative of God Bless's management team, in a press conference at Bentara Budaya, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (21/6/2023).

"If we meet again next year for God Bless's 51st anniversary, the director will be Mas Hanung Bramantyo," added Denny MR.

1. Biopic Film Spoilers

Denny MR did not want to reveal everything that will be presented in the biopic film. However, everything about God Bless will be included in the film.

"There will definitely be things that will be explored more deeply, things that people really want to know about God Bless," he said.

2. God Bless's New Album

As known, the band God Bless has released a new album titled 'Anthology'. This album contains 11 songs and one instrumental medley composition from six albums during God Bless's 50-year career in the music industry.

"The Anthology album is a series of celebrations for God Bless's 50th anniversary. As music enthusiasts, we are grateful that we can still continue to create and give our best for Indonesia until today," said Ahmad Albar.
