Have an Interest in Animals, Winaya Saves Dozens of Helpless Cats on the Streets

In his daily life, Winaya often rescues cats that he finds helpless on the streets. Although he admits that he has run out of space in his house, he cannot bear to see helpless cats on the streets.

"Actually, I have run out of space to rescue cats. But if I come across a cat that looks helpless, I can't bear it. In the end, I will definitely rescue it without hesitation," said Winaya.

According to Winaya, he has his own satisfaction after rescuing cats on the streets and taking care of them at home. When the cat is then adopted by someone and gets a new home, that's where Winaya's satisfaction lies. He hopes that the dozens of cats he shelters at home will soon find new homes that are more suitable and comfortable.

"But what makes me satisfied and at ease is when the cat finds a new owner who becomes its home. Because that cannot be forced, the cat actually indirectly chooses where it wants to go," he said.

"I hope that some of the cats at home will find their own homes, because my place is starting to get crowded with 31 cats," he added.

1. Studying in the Department of Veterinary Medicine

Winaya's interest in animals has been going on for a long time. Since childhood, he has been very close to his pets at home. After high school, Winaya also continued his studies at UGM Yogyakarta, majoring in veterinary medicine. After that, Winaya received a scholarship to study at a campus in Melbourne, Australia, majoring in Zoology.

From the knowledge he gained, Winaya has a greater interest in animals. According to him, animals are also living creatures that need love and attention.

"Although humans are superior to animals, we must still respect fellow living creatures. Animals should be treated equally and given proper care and affection," he concluded.
