Haven't Been Using Social Media Since Involved in Murder Case, Lidya Pratiwi: Many Considerations

Unfortunately, the beautiful actress who has officially changed her name to Maria Eleanor apparently has no plans to make her social media public since being involved in a murder case in 2006.

"I haven't thought about it. But now there is, but it hasn't been published yet because I'm not ready. Now, seeing the environment that becomes a consideration for the future. Friends have been pushing me to 'let's have social media first' for a few years. But I still have this feeling of not being confident. But slowly, I'm still thinking about it," said Maria Eleanor when met in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (29/9/2020).

The numerous changes in society and netizens on social media have somewhat influenced Maria Eleanor's decision to not go public about this. So far, she is still considering the pros and cons that will result from her decision to engage in social media.

"Yes, that's one of them. And also, whether it can be truly accepted with pleasure by those netizens. But many things have been conveyed by friends, as well as the media, and there are many supportive comments from the public. Of course, there will always be pros and cons. But it's okay, we can't force people to like or believe 100 percent, right? But it's not fair to those who support me if I don't express gratitude to them, so that's the main consideration," she said.

2. Her Hopes

When asked about her readiness to face netizens' comments, Maria Eleanor, who has gone through a long journey in life, hopes that social media can have a positive effect on the image attached to her after her imprisonment.

"Whether ready or not. What I mean is, I have already experienced it before, but the medium was different. It wasn't on social media, right? Hopefully, with the presence of social media, we can have closer conversations in the future. Gradually, those kinds of things will fade away.
