History of Pestapora, Held Since 2022 - Successfully Showcasing Hundreds of Musicians Each Year

Kapanlagi.com - Recently, Pestapora has been in the spotlight for being sponsored by PT Freeport Indonesia. This led several musicians to decide to withdraw and cancel their performances. The Pestapora organizers eventually terminated their partnership with Freeport Indonesia.

Pestapora has long been known as one of the largest and most anticipated music festivals for music lovers in the country. This event was first held from September 23-25, 2022. At that time, the music festival was trying to recover after the Covid-19 pandemic hit.

1. Fantastic Audience Numbers

Pestapora in 2022 was held for 3 consecutive days. There, a total of 174 artists and musicians performed. The audience count reached 75 thousand. Since then, Pestapora has taken its steps as a major festival in Indonesia.

In 2023, Pestapora again recorded extraordinary achievements. A total of 226 artists and musicians performed. The total number of visitors reached 97 thousand. From these statistics, a significant increase can be seen compared to 2022.

Meanwhile, in 2024, there were 280 musicians who enlivened Pestapora. Tickets sold amounted to 90 thousand and are projected to reach 100 thousand by the end of the event. These statistics further affirm Pestapora as a festival worth anticipating every year.

2. Accommodating Musicians from Various Genres

Pestapora carries the concept of a festival held over 3 consecutive days with more than 15 performance areas. This festival also features various collaborations from musicians that surprise the audience.

Interestingly, Pestapora also accommodates musicians from various genres ranging from Pop, Jazz, to traditional music. Indie bands, rising bands, solo musicians, and even international musicians also perform at Pestapora.

Notably, Rossa, Agnes Monica, Isyana Sarasvati, Rizky Febian, Tulus, Slank, Ungu, and Superman Is Dead have all enlivened the event organized by the promoter Boss Creator. Meanwhile, international musicians who have performed there include John Mayer, Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, and Anne Marie.

There are a series of unforgettable moments throughout Pestapora from year to year. One of them was SBY's performance in 2024. Yes, SBY performed 9 songs, including 3 original songs. Not only that, SBY also painted live in front of thousands of spectators.

In 2023, Nassar's performance became a hot topic. Although he has performed at Pestapora almost every year, Nassar invited Ivan Gunawan to perform on stage that time. The duet of Nassar and Igun made the audience sway excitedly.
