Iis Dahlia turns out to have a very open and modern perspective. She realizes that times have changed and parents can no longer impose their will or rigidly arrange their children's matches.

"Not just Devano, even my daughter (Salshadilla Juwita) cannot be controlled like in the past, in this day and age it’s impossible to arrange things for them," said Iis Dahlia wisely when met in the Pancoran area, South Jakarta, on Monday (05/01/2026).
For Iis, what matters most is not the background or social status of her children's partners. She only has one main requirement, which is the happiness and comfort of her children.
"What’s important is that they meet good people, with good families, who can make my children happy and comfortable, so why not? Right?" she said.
Iis's relaxed attitude was also evident during the recent year-end holiday. She allowed Devano to go on vacation alone with his girlfriend, while she chose to follow her eldest daughter, Salshadilla Juwita, along with her husband.
"My younger sibling is on vacation alone with their boyfriend. Well, that's just how it is when they grow up. It's okay," she explained casually.
Although she gives them freedom, Iis still advises Devano not to forget his religious obligations. She wants her child to grow up to be a responsible person and devout in their faith.
"Mama wants you not to neglect your prayers, your good deeds, and your charity, because thank God, there is always sustenance," Iis Dahlia concluded the conversation.
