Investigated by the Police Following the Shannon Wong Assault Case, Athalla Naufal Finally Speaks Out

Accompanied by his stepfather-to-be Ferry Irawan and his lawyer Lapana Saragih, Athalla Naufal visited the Bogor Police Station, West Java, on Friday (4/2).

1. Explanation from Athalla Naufal

When questioned by the police, Athalla Naufal only answered a few questions about Shannon Wong. His arrival was to resolve the issue involving Shannon Wong.

"Yes, the questions (from the police) that I know are only about Shannon. I came here to respect the invitation from the police and also to help Shannon reunite with her family. We don't really understand the situation. We can only pray for Shannon and her family's well-being," said Athalla Naufal after being questioned.

2. Surprised to be Summoned by the Police

The younger brother of Verrell Bramasta actually had no knowledge of the issue happening in Shannon Wong's family. He was quite surprised when he received a call from the police.

"Well, I was surprised, but we respect this summons and I think it's better to clear up the issue. Because it's also pitiful for people to talk about their family. I also hope that their family's problem can be resolved quickly," said Athalla Naufal.

3. Never Talked About Family Issues

Although they are close because they often create YouTube and TikTok content together, Athalla Naufal said that Shannon Wong never confided in him about his family problems. He was also surprised by the viral video that is currently circulating.

"He never talks about (family issues), rarely. We only talk about fun things like creating content together. We are all shocked, my friends and I, when we saw this viral video," he said.

4. Unfamiliar with the Complainant

Meanwhile, Lapana Saragih emphasized that his client, Athalla Naufal, is not involved in this case at all. In fact, Athalla Naufal is also not acquainted with the complainant.

"I want to convey that Athalla has no knowledge of the problems or relationships that occur within Shannon's family. Athalla is just an outsider who got involved, so we have already answered and conveyed everything," explained Lapana Saragih.

"For today, the questioning is finished. So, the police will continue with this case. Honestly, we don't know the complainant. The name is mentioned, but we don't know them," he concluded.

5. Origin of the Case

As known a few days ago, Shannon Wong caused a public uproar by uploading a video on social media of a heated argument with her father. She claimed to have received mistreatment from her parents for 12 years.

However, Shannon Wong's statement was denied by her sister, Sharon Wong. Her sister stated that Shannon started to change since getting close to one of her male friends. She also said that Shannon wanted to live independently from her parents.

Because of this issue, many netizens accused Athalla Naufal of being one of the causes and having a negative influence on Shannon Wong. It is known that Athalla Naufal and Shannon Wong have a close relationship.
