Irwansyah's Father Passed Away, Mark Sungkar: We Lost

Kapanlagi.com - The father of artist Irwansyah, Umar Efendi, passed away on Thursday (8/7/2021). As a son-in-law, Mark Sungkar admitted to being shocked by the news. This was stated by Zaskia Sungkar's father before attending a trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Friday night (9/7/2021).

"Yes, I was shocked, continuously. The children's uncle and grandmother are also in critical condition. The uncle has started to improve, but the grandmother, my mother-in-law, is in critical condition. So I am still in this condition, the condition of a son-in-law, a father-in-law, yes, this is a test from Allah that must be accepted, God willing," said Mark Sungkar.

1. Knowing the News from Zaskia

Mark Sungkar knew about Umar Efendi's passing from his daughter, Zaskia Sungkar. At that time, he was talking to Zaskia about Irwansyah's father who was ill.

"I have talked to Zaskia, Zaskia told me that her father-in-law, Irwan, didn't want to be taken to the hospital despite being sick. That day, yesterday, his oxygen level reached 54, if I'm not mistaken, or 58, which is very critical. Finally, he agreed, and the children were grateful to take him to the hospital. I thought it had been since morning, but it turned out he was just taken to the hospital and passed away on the way," said Mark Sungkar.

"I was about to talk to Zaskia, 'Dad, wait a moment. Irwan is crying.' Irwan had already called his sister, and his father passed away on the way. Well, I ended the conversation, and I immediately informed the rest of the family," Mark Sungkar continued.

2. His Figure According to Mark Sungkar

In Mark Sungkar's eyes, Irwansyah's father is a polite and quiet parent.

"Masha Allah, he never complains, very polite, not talkative, always smiling, we lost him," he said.

3. Last Meeting

Some time ago, Mark Sungkar admitted to having met Irwansyah's father at a family gathering event. Apparently, that meeting became the last encounter between Mark Sungkar and Irwansyah's father. For Mark Sungkar, Irwansyah's father is not just a father-in-law but already a part of the extended family.

"Not long ago, we were together in Puncak with the late one family with our own family, it was still enjoyable even though he complained and it was forced for him to join, he didn't want to join at first. That's the last memory. Just joking, the last meeting in Puncak was joking," Mark Sungkar concluded.
