Karina Ranau Experiences Trauma After Being Abused, Still Feels Anxious When Alone

Kapanlagi.com - Karina Ranau claims she is still suffering from severe trauma after being a victim of alleged abuse at her own canteen. Until now, fear still looms over her every time she engages in activities, especially when she has to walk alone.

Karina said the incident still lingers in her memory. Even small sounds or movements around her often make her feel anxious.

"The feeling of anxiety still haunts me, yes. Until now, I am traumatized, afraid to walk alone, but for my psychological well-being, I have to look back when I walk, any little sound makes me scared. Heeh," Karina Ranau said when met at the Pancoran Police Station, South Jakarta, Tuesday (7/7/2026).

1. Haven't Met the Perpetrator Again

Karina also revealed that she has not met the perpetrator again since the incident occurred. Their last meeting was only during the assault event in the canteen.

"The last time we met was at a stall because I am still traumatized, still what, my shock is still vivid in front of my eyes," she said.

Although she had planned to see a psychologist, Karina chose to try to gradually recover her mental condition. Her experience of receiving psychological support when her husband, Epy Kusnandar, passed away made her consider holding back for a while.

"At first, I wanted to go to a psychologist but I am still holding myself back because when my late husband died, I also went to a psychologist to recover and heal, and I have already healed. I am avoiding going to that psychologist, but if I really need it later, maybe I will go there," Karina revealed.

2. The Perpetrator Thought Karina Was an Employee

Karina also revealed the information she received regarding the reasons the perpetrator committed the violence. According to her, the perpetrator thought she was just a cafeteria employee, not the owner of the business.

"What I heard was that the perpetrator said at the time of the incident he didn’t know that I was the owner, he thought I was just a woman who worked at the stall, who was taking care of the stall. He said that. He thought he didn’t know I was the owner because at that time I was sweeping, I was sweeping in front of the stall while tidying up," Karina explained.
