Keanu Angelo Dragged into Hanania Travel Case, Denies Receiving Endorsements and Only Got Free Umrah

The name of the influencer Keanu Angelo has recently come under the spotlight after being called as a witness in a case of alleged fraud and embezzlement of funds from umrah pilgrims involving Hanania Travel. His presence at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Monday, June 8, 2026, sparked various speculations, including rumors that he received significant profits from his collaboration with the travel agency.

However, Keanu strongly denied these allegations. Through his lawyer, Charles P. Situmorang, Keanu clarified several points.

Keanu's lawyer emphasized that his client never received payment for endorsements or billions of rupiah in fund flows as widely discussed on social media.

"Mas Keanu is not involved or part of the management of PT or the companies under Hanania Group. Not as a director, not as a shareholder, not as a commissioner, nor as an investor. Thus, legally there is no relationship with Mas Keanu," said Charles P. Situmorang when met at Polda Metro Jaya, Monday (8/6/2026).

According to Charles, the only benefit received by his client is a free umrah travel facility as part of a promotional collaboration.

Keanu added that the form of cooperation he is running is purely a barter. He was sent for umrah by Hanania Travel and in return was asked to share his experiences and testimonials during the trip through social media. Other than that, he claims not to have received cash or any other form of payment from the travel party.

"Earlier it was also in accordance with what we stated in the investigative examination statement, that first, Mas Keanu did not receive any endorsement fee, that is the first. Never, there is none," he revealed.

"What he received was a barter related to a free umrah trip for Mas Keanu, and in return, Mas Keanu promoted it through Insta Daily Story on Instagram, during the departure process until his return, from July 29 to August 10 upon arriving in Indonesia," explained Charles.

Although his name has been implicated in this case, Keanu emphasizes that he will be cooperative and assist with the ongoing legal process. He hopes that all victims or congregants who have been harmed can reclaim their rights and obtain justice from the ongoing legal proceedings.
