Anwar BAB's involvement in promoting Hanania Travel has now led to a lengthy investigation by the police. The comedian is suspected of being one of the artists who benefited from the money obtained through the fraud of umrah pilgrims.
"I want to shoot first," said Anwar BAB when met in the area of Jalan Kapten Tendean, Mampang, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (6/9/2026).
Previously, Anwar was a guest star in various marketing activitiesto build trust among potential pilgrims. However, now the travel agency is embroiled in a major case after defrauding hundreds of people with a total amount of IDR 60 billion.
The Metro Jaya Police firmly stated that they will trace every penny that comes out of the company's account for promotions. Artists who have previously collaborated with Hanania Travel will likely be summoned as witnesses.
Nevertheless, Anwar claimed he would handle this issue casually. "Just keep it happy," he said.
This former MasterChef Indonesia contestant is trying to approach the issue with a positive mindset. Despite being bombarded with various questions by the media, Anwar did not show signs of panic or excessive worry.
This issue is very serious because it concerns the fate of the victims who have been saving for years. The police have identified Ahmad Syah Farhan, the owner of the travel agency, as the mastermind behind this major scandal.
"His prayer, oh Allah... keep him away from evil people, keep him away from tyrants, like that," he said.
