Legal Steps of Keenan Nasution Regarding the Mechanical Rights of the Song Nuansa Bening Version by Vidi Aldiano Missing from Spotify

Kapanlagi.com - Keenan Nasution's lawyer, Minola Sebayang, provided an explanation regarding the potential violation of mechanical rights in the song Nuansa Bening that was covered by Vidi Aldiano. This issue arose after the version of the song suddenly disappeared from the Spotify platform.

Minola believes that the disappearance of the song indicates that Vidi Aldiano's side acknowledges a mistake. He highlighted that the name of the songwriter listed in that version does not match the official permission that should have been granted.

"If he feels he has the rightful authority under the law, why must it be removed, why must it be taken down, just keep using it," said Minola at the Central Jakarta Commercial Court on Wednesday (11/6/2025).

1. The Removal of the Song from Spotify

According to Minola, the removal of the song from Spotify does not mean that the issue is resolved. On the contrary, this action strengthens the suspicion of unauthorized digital exploitation.

"We also see that there are several mistakes, including the lack of permission to exploit digitally, that is mechanical," he stated.

2. Consider Legal Action to Be Taken

Regarding this matter, Minola mentioned that his team is still considering the legal actions to be taken. However, the final decision remains in the hands of Keenan Nasution and Rudi Pekerti as the rights holders of the song.

"Wait for the announcement date, that's why I said," he said.

3. Keenan's Family Reports to Spotify

Previously, after this issue surfaced to the public, the song Nuansa Bening version by Vidi Aldiano was no longer available on Spotify. Now, only the original version sung by Keenan Nasution can be listened to on that platform.

Keenan's son, Daryl Nasution, also provided a statement regarding the removal of the song from the streaming platform. He mentioned that the family had reported to Spotify and included supporting data as evidence.

According to the song credit metadata, the uploader is different. It is not Suara Hati label, but VA Records, said Daryl Nasution some time ago.

4. The Emergence of the Nuansa Bening Version is Considered Odd

As information, Suara Hati is the label that managed Vidi Aldiano in 2008, and had previously collaborated with Keenan Nasution to officially cover the song. However, the version that emerged later is considered odd due to the inclusion of an incorrect name.

Another oddity, according to Daryl Nasution, is in the part of the song creator where VA Records listed the name of the label itself as the songwriter. Upon investigation, it was found that VA Records is a recording company owned by Vidi Aldiano.
