As a mentor with an acting class, Kiki often faces critical questions from her students. Many of her students are graduates or aspiring soap opera actors who want to deepen their acting skills.

"I initially wanted to take this because, you see, I have an acting class, Mas," she said when met at MD Place, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Thursday (15/01/2026).

Problems arose when her students asked for views or tips regarding the soap opera world. Kiki, who has only been involved in film and theater, felt incompetent to provide valid answers because she did not have empirical experience in the field.

"I have an acting class, and then there are a few of my students who are indeed graduates from this electronic cinema. Now, there are some friends who do not have this experience asking me. 'Mas, in your opinion, what is soap opera like?'" Kiki recounted, mimicking her student's question.

His integrity as a teacher is tested. He does not want to provide answers that are solely based on theory or assumptions without ever experiencing firsthand what it feels like to shoot every day with a script that has just come in. "Well, I can't answer that. Because I have never experienced it," he admits honestly.

Therefore, Kiki decided to accept this soap opera offer as part of his research and studies. He wants to directly experience the dynamics, pressure, and acting techniques in front of the television camera so that he can share "real" knowledge with his students.

"Later, when I have experienced it, I can share it. So to make it legitimate, I say, I try that," he asserted.

Now, with his new experience as Mr. Santoso, Kiki Narendra is ready to return to his acting class with a broader perspective, combining the depth of film acting with the agility of soap opera acting.
