The beautiful actress Kimberly Ryder brings an interesting story amid the festive celebration of Indonesia's Independence Day. Not many know that behind her mixed heritage lies a deep love for her homeland, the place where she was born, raised, and built her career.

Even though she still holds the status of a foreign national (WNA), this does not diminish her sense of belonging to Indonesia at all. This mother and child emphasize that citizenship status will never change her feelings.

"What can I say, I love Indonesia. I have many memories in Indonesia. Of course, being born here, raised here, building my career here, does not diminish my love for Indonesia. Whether I am an Indonesian citizen or a foreign national, whatever it is," Kimberly Ryder told reporters at South Quarter, South Jakarta, Saturday (16/8/2025).

His love for Indonesia has been ingrained since he was still in school. The celebration of August 17 always becomes a special day full of sweet memories for him. This former wife of Edward Akbar even admitted to always being excited to participate in various independence-themed activities, including being part of the flag-raising team (Paskibra).

His enthusiasm did not stop at marching, as he was also actively participating in various competitions held at his school. This actress of Minang-English descent then recounted one of her favorite competitions that she often won.

One of the most memorable competitions in his memory was the cracker-eating contest, which he often won due to his physical advantages. With enthusiasm, he reminisced about his simple strategy back then.

"Usually I win, because I am tall. But not really, now it feels like, if you are tall you definitely get taller, right," said Kimberly Ryder.

Now, after growing up and being busy with various activities, Kimberly admits that she is no longer as active as before in participating in celebrations in her surroundings. However, the spirit of independence has never faded and is now passed on to her two children, Rayden and Aisyah.

Even though she no longer competes, she ensures that her children do not miss out on the excitement of Independence Day. She also explains that her children will participate in the celebrations held at their respective schools.

"The children are celebrating at school. So, that's it, probably just them who are participating in the competition," he concluded.
