The passing of Johnny Wong, the father of Baim Wong, left a deep sorrow for family and close friends. One of those who came to pay their last respects was Raffi Ahmad, who shared sweet memories of the deceased at the funeral home in the Gondangdia area, Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/1/2025).
“Yesterday I had a chance to meet directly. One time when his father was still lying in the hospital, I had a chance to visit. We met and took a photo together,” said Raffi Ahmad while reminiscing about his last meeting with Johnny Wong.
During the meeting, Raffi admitted he tried to give encouragement to Johnny Wong, who at that time was still fighting his illness.
“I said keep fighting, keep fighting. At that time, Baim's father was quite famous with Johnny Steak Wong. So I said ‘keep fighting Johnny Steak Wong,’” Raffi said with a smile while reminiscing about that moment.
For Raffi, Johnny Wong is not just a father of his close friend, but also someone who has sweet memories in his life journey.
“When it comes to memories, there are many. Back when I was building my career, I was close to Baim. I often visited his house in Menteng along with his late father,” reminisced Raffi with deep emotion.
Raffi Ahmad also shared that Johnny Wong was a friendly and caring figure. Those memories are what made Johnny's passing leave a profound impression in Raffi's heart.
Johnny Wong himself was known to the public through his culinary business that was quite popular in its time, namely Johnny Steak Wong. This business once became one of the culinary icons that reflected Johnny's personality as a hard worker.
