Kapanlagi.com - In 2008, Maia Estianty divorced Ahmad Dhani. At that time, the challenges she faced felt very heavy, especially because her three children were also taken by Dhani. This Surabaya-born woman experienced stress and depression because of it.

In her difficult times, Maia then tried to get closer to God. And a unique fact was revealed when she was recently invited as a guest star on Daniel Mananta Network's YouTube channel.

"So I got divorced in 2008, then in 2009 I started discussing with people who love God, outside of my religion. So I started discussing with people who seek or love God in their own ways," recalled the mother of three as quoted by KapanLagi.com from Daniel Mananta Network's YouTube channel.

1. Maia Estianty Starts Reading Books of Other Religions

During the gathering, Maia began to study and familiarize herself with other beliefs. In fact, the wife of Irwan Mussry did not hesitate to read holy books from other religions to broaden her knowledge.

"I started discussing, it was interesting because I didn't know their teachings and they didn't know mine, so we debated with each other, sometimes even arguing. But eventually, I had to read their books so that I wouldn't lose in the debate," Maia recalled.

"Eventually, I read books outside of my own religion and continued doing so. I already understood my own book, but by looking at other books, there are different ways of conveying the same message. Eventually, my gathering became a discussion group that studies books," Maia explained.

2. Learning About All Beliefs

On one occasion, Maia told how she was so inspired by the popular Indian film, PK. From there, Maia became more open-minded about other beliefs.

"Until now, I have been a Muslim because I was born into Islam. I don't want to be dogmatic about 'The right religion is this, that is it'. When I studied (God), I had to get to know, empty my mind, accept everything, like learning everything. And that's where I became deeper and closer to God," Maia concluded.
