Manoj Punjabi Reports Account that Leaked 'LAYANGAN PUTUS' to Digital Media, WeTV Examined as Witnesses

In response to this, Manoj Punjabi, the owner of MD Entertainment as a production house, reported it to the police. In the process of investigation, Lesley Simpson, the country head of WeTV Indonesia, was called as a witness in the case of alleged violations of the ITE Law and piracy.

"Just checked as a witness. The reporting has been ongoing for some time, and now it is under investigation. (WeTV) is the party that has the broadcasting rights. And this was leaked to external parties, which ultimately caused losses," said Lesley, who was met at the Directorate of General Crime Investigation of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, on Tuesday (22/2/2022).

Lesley Simpson admitted that the losses incurred due to the leakage of this video are very significant. It is not only material but also immaterial.

"The losses are being calculated. It is not just about money, but also the tarnishing of the WeTV brand. The (losses) are very significant, but the exact amount needs to be calculated first. It is definitely huge," Lesley emphasized.

3. The Defendant Has Been Identified

The police have identified the disseminator or the defendant. Currently, the case is still being investigated and WeTV does not want to stay silent.

"The defendant has been identified and is currently being processed, their tracks are being traced. This should not be taken lightly. It is something that greatly harms the industry," said Lesley.

LAYANGAN PUTUS (Broken Kite) is a series created by Benni Setiawan. This domestic drama is starred by Reza Rahadian, Putri Marino, and Anya Geraldine.
