Marshel Widianto Now Chooses to Limit Working Hours for Golden Time with His Children

Marshel admits that in the past he pushed himself too hard to seek material wealth without considering his health and time with his children.

The bitter experience of having to lie weak in the hospital gave him a new perspective on the meaning of a father's presence. He no longer wants to miss the golden moments of his sons just to chase after money from morning until morning again. "My time to earn money, my time to be with the kids, in the end, everything is safe and balanced. In the past, I didn't make time. Now, I make time for the kids first, then I work," he explained.

Marshel realizes that no matter how high the success he achieves, family remains the final place to anchor. When he fell ill, only family embraced him and gave him strength until he could rise back to earth.

"Families are also the ones who ultimately embraced me until I rose again, in the end, it’s family. So that’s what I really say, it turns out no matter where we go looking, we always return to family, that’s it," he said wisely.

Now, the man commonly known as Marshel has started to limit his working hours and no longer accepts all the offers that come his way. He sets clear time boundaries so he can still be fully present for his wife and two children amidst his busy schedule as a public figure.

"More precisely, it’s about limiting work time. I don’t take everything. If before, wow, from morning till morning I took it all. If I could still stay awake, I worked. That was before. Now, let’s hold off for a bit," said the husband of Yansen Indiani.

Marshel also admits that his wife has often complained about his busyness in the past. However, at that time he tended to ignore those complaints because he was too eager to change his family's economic situation. "I really want to be present as a father, as a husband for my wife and also for my child. So yes, when working, it's more about limiting time for work. Actually, the complaints have been there for a long time, but I never listened," Marshel concluded the interview.
