Marvel Studios Boss Gives Encouragement to Joko Anwar to Develop Bumilangit Cinematic Universe

Kapanlagi.com - Disney+ Hotstar streaming service just held a virtual launching ahead of its arrival in Indonesia on September 5th. In the event, Joko Anwar announced that Bumilangit Cinematic Universe (BCU) films will be available on the platform.

What is surprising is the participation of Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige. The mastermind behind the successful Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise even supports Joko in developing BCU.

"I know exactly how it feels to dream of bringing epic stories to life. And I believe that the future of Indonesian cinema is in the right hands. Don't hesitate to expand the universe. All the best to all of you!" said Kevin as quoted in the Disney+ Hotstar Grandfest event on Monday (10/8/2020).

Upon hearing the support, Joko Anwar expressed his gratitude. While not forgetting to promise to continue developing Bumilangit Cinematic Universe.

"Wow, this is an honor for me. Thank you for your message, Kevin. We are also inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And yes, we will develop our universe. I'm just happy to receive a message from you," Joko replied.

Furthermore, it was revealed that the first title of Bumilangit Cinematic Universe that will be available on Disney+ Hotstar is GUNDALA. However, due to certain reasons, the film starring Abimana Aryasatya can only be enjoyed on the service in February 2021.
