Kapanlagi.com - Starting a business is not easy, but personal experience can be a valuable starting point. This is what talented actress Mikha Tambayong experienced. In a recent interview session at KapanLagi Talk, she shared about her first time starting a business.
It started in 2019 with the opening of a beauty studio that offers manicure, pedicure, and eyelash extension services. Initially, the idea arose because Mikha regularly had her nails done every three weeks.
"Then it developed, I also have a legal consultancy that is mostly comprised of women. I have a partner who is a notary. Because I studied law for my bachelor's degree, I feel like I want to apply that knowledge, and it just so happens that I enjoy it," explained Mikha Tambayong in the interview at KapanLagi Talk on Friday (12/9).
"Now I have also started learning about investments. I actually learn a lot from my husband, who happens to be an entrepreneur. He shares a lot and teaches me the basics of being an investor and other things. So now I'm starting to venture into investments as well," she continued.

However, the business journey is not always smooth. The biggest challenge I feel is actually in human resources (HR).
"The difficulty in doing business is of course the trial and error, right? That can be quite heavy, especially when we offer service jobs, for example. There are a lot of trials and errors involved. Then for me, so far, the most tricky and hardest part is actually HR," concluded Mikha Tambayong.

Expectations regarding team performance sometimes do not match reality on the ground, making the process of finding and retaining the right HR quite challenging.
"And to find HR that may actually fit the job we offer or need, sometimes it can be quite difficult to maintain and so on," she continued.

The issues faced by Deva Mahenra's wife in this business have become a tricky part. She is still learning a lot even now.
"I mean, it's not just in that part, there are still many aspects of the business that I am also still learning about now," said the star of the film DILANJUTKAN SALAH DISUDAHI PERIH.

When the host of KapanLagi Talk asked Mikha if there was any fear when starting a business, Mikha certainly has a desire not to fail.
"Of course, I want whatever we do, not just in business but in other jobs as well, to succeed. Actually, if we could avoid failure, we would want that, especially since we have invested our money and other resources, time and effort," said the 31-year-old actress.

However, failure is certainly unavoidable. Mikha Tambayong acknowledges that business is not always smooth.
"It's the same as a career in entertainment, it can't always go the way we want it to. It's the same with business, but at least in business, we have our calculations. I mean, we can calculate the risks, the break-even point, and other factors that can be estimated," she continued.

Life is often full of unexpected surprises. Just like we experienced during the pandemic, there are many things beyond our control that can suddenly change the course of our journey. Such force majeure conditions are indeed hard to avoid, even when we have prepared the best plans possible.
"But if we really have to face it, we will go through it, we will face it, and we will learn what can be gained from that failure. Hopefully, it won't happen again in the future," she said.
