The popular singing talent search event in the 2000s, namely Akademi Fantasi Indosiar or AFI season 1, certainly left nostalgic memories for its viewers. The same can be said for the participants, especially Ve Nazarina, Romi Kartiko, Ismail Rojali (Smile), and Icha Wuwungan.

Until now, they claim to still be friends with all the participants. However, getting together is very difficult due to the long distance between their residences and their busy schedules. This is a moment when the four of them make time to gather.

When met in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, (20/3) Wednesday afternoon Ve, Icha, Romi, and Ismail said that they still keep in touch. This is still ongoing because for Ismail, he and the other eleven AFI 1 participants have made history in the entertainment industry in the country.

"When we gather, we mostly talk about what's going on, especially since we all have children and we ask about each other's news," said Icha Wuwungan.

"I always say that AFI is history because whether we like it or not, me and my friends have made history in the entertainment industry in the country. AFI is a history of learning about togetherness. We rise and fall together and it turns out the impact is still felt until now," said Ismail Rojali.

Ve Nazarina also added that during that time, everything that happened when they were still participants was real. But according to her, that's where beautiful memories with other participants happened, which still leave a lasting impression in her mind.

"During the AFI era, we didn't fake it. If we were angry, we were really angry. But we can't deny that there must be something that made us crash a bit, but oh well, we learned to be mature. We had our ups and downs back then," said Ve Nazarina.

In addition, Icha Wuwungan also remembered the moment when both of them were scolded by Ari Tulang. Although they received scolding at that time, it became a sweet memory for Icha and Ve.

"I remember Ve being punished by Ari Tulang. He scolded us because we were late. He really shouted at us and those words are still remembered until now. It's still echoing in my mind," said Icha Wuwungan.

"I remember Mbak Bertha very well. We were practicing vocalization at that time, and I didn't understand the notation. I kept making mistakes. Then Mbak Bertha commented that I'm lucky to be handsome, otherwise she would tear me apart," Romi Kartiko concluded.

On the same occasion, Ismail Rojali and Romi Kartiko stated that they are still active in the entertainment industry in the country. However, Ismail Rojali is actively working behind the scenes and is currently involved in event management and talent management.

Meanwhile, Icha Wuwungan apparently chose a different path from her three colleagues. Icha said that she is currently busy with her job as a dentist. They are all still very successful!
