Mother Iffet's Services for Indonesian Musicians, Once Hosted Anang Hermansyah in Her Home - Like a Mother to Abdee SLANK

Anang Hermansyah was one of those who shed tears at Mother Iffet's funeral. He still vividly remembers staying at Mother Iffet's house at the beginning of his career. "I might want to say to all my friends that until today I can stand in this industry thanks to her. That I was born by Mother Iffet, I am not from Potlot, I am from a village in Jember, I was given a place, I once slept in Potlot for two years with my friends," said Anang at TPU Karet Bivak, Jakarta, Saturday (27/4/2025).

Besides Anang, there is also Abdee SLANK who was far from home at the beginning of his career. Mother Iffet was like a mother to him. "I also remember the first sentence she said to me. When I joined in '97, she said, 'Abdee, since your family is in Sulawesi, consider Mother as your mother, your family here in Jakarta. That made me think less about other things,' said Abdee.

For Ivanka, Mother Iffet is a figure of a fighter who is willing to sacrifice for the people around her. She even feels closer to Mother than to her own biological mother. Mother Iffet's struggle in helping the Slank children escape from drug addiction is also a memory that remains etched in Ivanka's heart.

Former Slank bassist, Bongky Marcel, also reminisces about his closeness with Bunda Iffet since the early days of joining the Potlot community. He feels that Bunda Iffet has replaced the figure of his late mother. "Yes, from that time Bunda became my mom. So she scolded me a lot, gave a lot of advice, basically she was a good person," said Bongky.

Oppie Andaresta stated that Bunda Iffet's role is much greater than just being the manager of Slank. "Bunda Iffet played a significant role, she has a special place, both for the Slank friends and for me personally. She is like our second mother, the children of Potlot. So it’s not just Slank. Basically, we are building our careers away from home. She is the one who provided a home," said Oppie at Potlot, Saturday night (26/4/2025).

Pay Burman, former guitarist of Slank, remembers Bunda Iffet as a figure who was considered like a parent. "Bunda was like our parents when we were teenagers, a mother who contributed to the children at that time, paying attention to us who were still teenagers back then," he said.

Armand Maulana, the vocalist of GIGI, also received encouragement from Bunda Iffet during her life. "Bunda Iffet is the best person I have ever known. In every GIGI performance, Bunda Iffet was always present at the edge of the stage from the beginning of GIGI's performance until the end, and after that, she would definitely hug me, giving sincere support," he wrote on Instagram.
