Before Passing Away, Mother Iffet Secretly Prepared White T-Shirts for the Family and Slank

"So there’s a little story, I represent Pulau Biru, representing Mas Adri, Mas Bimbim. So Bunda, in 2017, secretly before the pandemic, quietly, no one knew with whom, she printed shirts. This, the one we are wearing now," Kaka revealed at TPU Karet Bivak, Central Jakarta, Sunday (27/4/2025).

Bunda Iffet not only printed several shirts, but prepared up to a hundred pieces with special initials for each family member. Kaka stated that the shirts were made with great care and attention to every little detail.

"There are initials of their names, there are nicknames of their husbands, to them. She was planning something, making shirts, I don’t know how many were printed, but for sure 100," said Kaka.

More than just a number, Kaka emphasized that Mother Iffet truly considered who would receive the shirts. He mentioned that all the names of the recipients were handwritten directly by Mother.

"He printed 100, named all these shirts for Bimbing-Bimbing who wears them, along with his wife and children. This shirt is worn by Bang Denny, this shirt is worn by Viras, this shirt is worn by Mezaluna," said Kaka.

Mother Iffet's great attention, according to Kaka, is evident from her direct involvement even in small matters. He described how significant Mother’s role is in managing many aspects of their large family's life.

"She wrote everything by hand herself. So, that's long before... So you can imagine, she is that much in charge of our lives," Kaka said.

Meanwhile, Bimbim Slank revealed that he only learned about the existence of the white uniforms on the day of the funeral. He recounted that Bunda Iffet had prepared everything with the help of her assistants since eight years ago.

"We didn’t know anything, suddenly we got uniforms. Friends said that 8 years ago (Bunda) had prepared these uniforms, Bunda's assistants took care of it. Everything was written down in one plastic bag, Kaka's family, Ivan's family, and others," Bimbim said.

On the same occasion, Kaka reminisced about Bunda Iffet as a figure who was always present in every aspect of her children's lives. He realized that Bunda's great attention sometimes felt intrusive, but it turned out to bring many benefits in the future.

"Mom is always in the hearts of all of us. Because Mom always tries to meddle in our affairs, even just a little. But at that time, I might have realized she was kind of annoying. But it turns out Mom's stubbornness is beneficial," said Kaka.

For Kaka, the steadfastness of Mother Iffet is very meaningful in his life journey, including during difficult times with Slank. He admits that Mother's struggle has given him and the band that made his name a great boost.

"At least for my personal life. She is persistent in fighting for me, persistent in fighting for Slank to recover," Kaka reminisced.

The strong spirit of Mother Iffet, Kaka continued, was felt until her last moments. Even in small matters like preparing costumes, Mother still showed her great care for the family. "Persisting until the end for Slank to still provide costumes," said Kaka.
