Just Revealed, Gibran Rakabuming Raka Admits Using Social Media After Entering Politics

Interestingly, as a public figure, Gibran himself made a quite surprising confession. Until now, Jokowi's eldest son admitted that he had never used or played on social media, even calling himself anti-social media.

This fact was revealed in a podcast on his YouTube channel, GK Hebat. In the podcast titled Obrolan Tunggu Waktu or OTW, Gibran revealed that he started actively using social media since entering politics.

"Personally, I never used social media. I created social media because I got into politics. Previously, I was very anti-social media," said Gibran.

"Because of this anti stance, I had to fill this void with a good team, good administrators," he added.

2. Social Media as Complaint Platform

Upon investigation, it turns out that Gibran has become more active in using social media, utilizing it as a means to interact with people, especially the youth. In addition, social media also serves as a platform to accommodate citizens' complaints, especially those from Solo.

"We use social media for positive things, to accommodate citizens' complaints, and we have been doing this since I became the Mayor," said Gibran.

3. Young People Prefer Social Media

Since the beginning of his term, Gibran and his team have provided a hotline for public complaints. However, he sees that young people prefer to tell their stories through social media.

"At the beginning, we have provided a hotline, but young people don't like it, they prefer to create long threads of posts because children don't want to use hotlines," he explained.

4. Frequently Receive DMs

Gibran also admitted that he often receives direct messages or DMs on social media. In fact, it is not uncommon for these messages to come from young people who prefer to keep things private.

"On social media or through DMs, it's more intimate, especially the complaints from girls. Usually, they want it to be private. Because in my position, we have a special platform that can be seen by everyone, so sometimes they prefer to use DMs. And we still do that until now," he continued.

5. Complaints from Various Communities

Now, Gibran himself has become the elected Vice President for the 2024-2025 period. He, who used to only receive complaints from Solo residents, now has his social media DM filled with complaints from various communities in Indonesia.

"Because I am now in this position, there are already many complaints from outside Solo, so it's a bit complicated now. Basically, we use our social media to accommodate citizens' complaints," he concluded.

6. New Youtube Channel

In addition to social media, Gibran Rakabuming Raka has also created his new YouTube channel, called GK Hebat. Previously, Gibran himself already had his own channel, Gibran TV, which is still active up to now.

The content presented by the two hosts, Ate and Rais, mostly discusses business and SMEs. However, they also occasionally touch on light topics and bring in various interesting guests or speakers. Up to now, the GK Hebat YouTube channel has more than 60 thousand subscribers.
