Nia Ramadhani and Ardi Bakrie Sentenced to 1 Year in Prison, Mikhayla Hysterical

Kapanlagi.com - Nia Ramadhani's assistant, Theresa Wienathan, speaks out about the one-year prison sentence for drug abuse that her boss has received. According to Tere, Mikhayla Zalindra Bakrie, Nia and Ardi's daughter who was born in 2012, is devastated by what has happened to her parents.

"At first, she was hysterical when she heard about the one-year prison sentence, she cried a lot," said Theresa Wienathan, when met in the Kapten Tendean area, Mampang, South Jakarta, on Thursday (20/1).

"When she heard that her mom will be going to rehab, she cried even more, especially when she heard about the one-year prison sentence, she cried a lot, it was terrible," Theresa continued.

Indeed, previously the Public Prosecutor's Office demanded one year of rehabilitation. However, the judge gave a heavier sentence, which is one year in prison, which shocked the family who did not expect such a decision.

"Everyone was shocked, very sad too. Honestly, we had expectations. When we heard that the judge sentenced her to one year in prison, we couldn't say anything, just sadness," Tere concluded.

Nia Ramadhani seen crying and continuously wiping her tears after hearing the one-year prison sentence verdict for drug abuse case that implicated her, Tuesday (11/1/2022). The verdict was also imposed on her husband, Ardi Bakrie and their driver, Zen Vivanto.

"Imposing a sentence on the defendants Zen Vivanto, Ramadhania Ardiansyah Bakrie, and Aninda Ardiansyah Bakrie with a one-year prison sentence each," said the chairman of the panel of judges, Muhammad Damis.

Upon hearing the verdict, the three defendants, represented by Ardi Bakrie, filed an appeal. "We are filing an appeal," said Ardi Bakrie.

After the trial, Nia and her husband refused to say a single word about the verdict. They continued to walk out of the courtroom and immediately left in a white Alphard car with license plate number B 164 NB, which was waiting for them.

As it is known, Nia Ramadhani, her husband Ardi Bakrie, and their driver, Zen Vivanto, were arrested by the drug squad of the Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police on July 7, 2021.

The three of them were arrested after using methamphetamine together. In the arrest, the police seized evidence of used methamphetamine weighing 0.5 grams and the smoking device.

4. Not Qualified as Addicts

After the examination, on July 10, 2021, based on the recommendation of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), the three of them underwent rehabilitation for 4 months at a rehabilitation center in the Bogor area. During the trial, the Public Prosecutor demanded that the three defendants undergo rehabilitation for 12 months.

However, in the verdict hearing, the Panel of Judges rejected the demand of the Public Prosecutor. The Judge, in his consideration, assessed that the three defendants did not qualify as addicts and victims of drug abuse who needed rehabilitation.

"Because the defendants do not qualify as addicts and victims of narcotics, the rehabilitation they have undergone cannot be counted as part of their sentence," said the Judge.

5. The Sentence Has Been Considered

The judge sentenced three defendants to one year in prison. This is also after considering several aggravating and mitigating factors.

"Aggravating, the defendants' actions do not support the government's program to vigorously eradicate drugs, the actions of defendants 2 and 3 as public figures who should set a good example for the community but behave otherwise," said the judge.

"On the other hand, the defendants' mitigating factors are that they have never been previously convicted and they admit and promise not to repeat their actions. The defendants also have family responsibilities," said the judge.
