Nikita Mirzani Detained Longer, Confirmed Not to Celebrate Eid with Family

Nikita Mirzani and her assistant, Mail Syahputra, officially undergo an extension of their detention related to the alleged extortion case against the owner of a local skincare brand, Reza Gladys. This detention is carried out by investigators from the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police and will last for 40 days, from March 24 to May 2, 2025.

"The detention of suspects NM and IM has been extended for 40 days, from March 24 to May 2, 2025. This is part of the investigation mechanism as regulated in the Criminal Procedure Code," explained the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, when met at the Metro Jaya Police, South Jakarta, on Monday (3/24/2025).

Previously, Nikita Mirzani and Mail Syahputra had been detained for 20 days since March 4, 2025. This initial detention was part of the investigation process of the extortion case involving both of them. Now, with this extension, Nikita is confirmed to be unable to celebrate Idul Fitri with her family.

"This extension of detention is granted based on a letter from the Head of the High Prosecutor's Office dated March 19. The investigators continue this detention in accordance with procedures for investigation purposes," added Kombes Ade Ary.

In this stage of the investigation, the investigators continue to strive to complete the case files by conducting in-depth investigations and intensive coordination with the Public Prosecutor (JPU). This step is taken so that the case can be immediately forwarded to the next stage.

"This is all regulated in the Criminal Procedure Code. At the initial stage, the investigator conducts detention for 20 days, then requests an extension to the prosecutor's office. The extension has been approved," Ade Ary further stated.

The case of alleged extortion involving Nikita Mirzani and Mail Syahputra has attracted public attention. Both are suspected of extorting Reza Gladys for a considerable amount. However, until now, the investigators are still completing the case files to ensure the completeness of evidence and the chronology of the case.

"This detention is part of the legal process that the suspect must undergo. The investigators are still examining the evidence and statements to strengthen the case file before it is submitted to the public prosecutor," explained Kombes Ade Ary.

With this extension, the detention period for Nikita and her assistant becomes a total of 60 days. This is done so that the investigators can complete the investigation process thoroughly, in accordance with the applicable legal procedures.
