Not a Brand Ambassador, Anwar BAB Shocked by Hanania Travel Issues

Anwar BAB provided a clear clarification regarding his relationship status with the travel agency Hanania Travel. He refused to be called a Brand Ambassador even though his face often appears promoting the troubled travel agency.

"And I want to emphasize that Anwar BAB Anwar Sanjaya is not a Brand Ambassador," said Anwar BAB when met at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters in South Jakarta, Tuesday (9/6/2026).

Anwar explained that the collaboration he has had so far was only in the form of a social media content barter. He has never received a large contract or special funds from the owner of Hanania Travel.

This comedian admitted to being very surprised when hearing the news about stranded pilgrims who failed to depart. Until now, he only knew of technical difficulties due to situations beyond the company's control.

"Shocked! Of course, I was really shocked. Because what I know is force majeure during a war. That's all I knew," he said.

Before accepting the collaboration offer, Anwar claimed to have conducted a thorough check on the credibility of the travel agency. He monitored testimonials from pilgrims on social media and found no negative reviews.

He even visited the company's physical office to ensure their legality and operational existence. However, the reality on the ground told a different story, leading to a mass police report.

"The first thing I always check on social media is that Hanania's reviews from previous attendees have no flaws, no defects, no negativity," he said.

This bitter incident became a valuable lesson for Anwar to be more selective in accepting collaborations in the future. He will delve deeper into the legal aspects of each company before promoting.

"So moving forward, it will be a lesson for me that when I want to collaborate on anything, it must be based on permission and there must be a legal entity involved," he concluded.
