Not Because of Budget, This is the Reason Leony is Selective in Acting Roles

Kapanlagi.com - Not heard of for a long time, the beautiful artist Leony Vitria Hartanti or better known as Leony is currently focused on the acting world. She admitted that she is currently preparing for the shooting of the latest web series.

"Preparing for web series shooting in Jogja. I'm no longer singing, just bored," said Leony when met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (13/2/2024).

Regarding acting, Leony is one of the artists who is selective in roles. Usually, Leony will accept offers to play in a film if the character offered is considered interesting.

"If the role is interesting, usually I'm interested. And then, I'm in the mood, so it depends, sometimes when I'm enthusiastic about work, I'm not so picky, more like 'let's go, let's go'. But sometimes if the mood is not okay or if the feeling is uncertain, then no," said Leony.

In addition to being influenced by her mood, Leony is more selective in choosing roles because she wants to have time to relax. "It depends on the mood. I've been in the entertainment world since '92, now it's time to relax and take jobs that suit my heart," she said.

Leony admitted that she had refused several offers to act in films for various reasons. Not because of the payment, but Leony refused the offer to act in a film because she considered the storyline to be less interesting.

"Sometimes, when the timing is not right, sometimes the role is not interesting enough, sometimes it's the budget. But for me, the budget is not a big deal, sometimes I can help my indie filmmaker friends because the role is interesting," she said.

"So there are many factors, not just because of the budget, sometimes if the budget is okay but the storyline doesn't fit or doesn't click, why force it?" Leony added.

2. Interesting Character

Recently, Leony received an offer to be involved in the acting world again. She revealed that the reason for accepting the offer was because the character offered was very interesting to her.

"Last time I had a reading, I was interested because I was offered the role of an antagonist for the first time," she said.

This is her first experience playing an antagonist character, and she considers it an interesting challenge. That's why she accepted the offer even though there is stripping involved in the shooting.

"Yes, I took stripping again because of the antagonist role, but the challenge is that I have to be a socialite mother every day, with full makeup, high heels, all kinds of skirts, which is more tiring than acting," she said.

"Actually, I've always wanted to have an antagonist role, but it's rare to get an antagonist role. That's why when I got the antagonist role, I took it immediately. Even though there is stripping involved because I really wanted it," she concluded.
