Not Just Nikita Mirzani is Sick, Prosecutors Also Struggle with Expert Witness from PPATK Ignoring Court Summons

The trial process of the alleged extortion and Money Laundering (TPPU) case with defendant Nikita Mirzani seems to be facing a rocky road. In addition to being delayed due to the health condition of the artist, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) also appears to be facing serious obstacles in presenting key witnesses.

This fact was revealed during the trial held at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (04/9/2025). At the end of the session, before the court was adjourned, the JPU expressed its grievances to the panel of judges.

The prosecutor admitted to having difficulty presenting an expert witness from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK). In fact, this witness is crucial to proving the money laundering charges against Nikita Mirzani.

"Excuse me, Your Honor. There is something we would like to convey, that until today we have made calls for an expert witness from PPATK on behalf of Muhammad Novian, who has not been able to attend despite three calls, Your Honor," reported the public prosecutor.

According to the public prosecutor, the expert witness has always been unable to attend due to other obligations. As a result, the prosecutor feels that there needs to be firmer action from the court to ensure the witness's presence at the next trial.

"Due to the tasks at hand, we require a special summons letter," requested the prosecutor to the panel of judges.

This obstacle adds to the long list of hindrances in Nikita's trial. Previously, the hearing had to be held online due to security conditions that did not allow for an in-person meeting, and now it must be postponed again because Nikita has a severe toothache.

The judge has rescheduled the hearing for September 11, 2025, hoping that Nikita will have recovered and that an expert witness from PPATK can be present.
