The passing of Mpok Alpa due to breast cancer was a heavy blow for Nunung. As a friend and also a survivor of a similar illness, she deeply understands the tough struggle that the deceased had to endure, especially during chemotherapy.
Nunung shared her experience that the pain after chemotherapy is something unavoidable. According to her, there is no pain reliever that can fully counter the side effects of the treatment, which is why doctors always recommend one important thing.
"Chemotherapy is very painful, really painful. Because, after we undergo chemotherapy, we go home without being given any medicine. So, the chemotherapy drug is no longer, cannot be countered by any medication," Nunung said when met in the Tendean area of South Jakarta on Tuesday (19/8/2025).
"Whether you are given a painkiller or anything, it doesn't fight back. Nothing fights back. It really hurts. So, the doctor always just says, 'Be happy, okay?','" Nunung added.
