Nunung Reveals the Key to Countering the Effects of Breast Cancer Chemotherapy, Reveals the Most Effective Medicine

The passing of Mpok Alpa due to breast cancer was a heavy blow for Nunung. As a friend and also a survivor of a similar illness, she deeply understands the tough struggle that the deceased had to endure, especially during chemotherapy.

Nunung shared her experience that the pain after chemotherapy is something unavoidable. According to her, there is no pain reliever that can fully counter the side effects of the treatment, which is why doctors always recommend one important thing.

"Chemotherapy is very painful, really painful. Because, after we undergo chemotherapy, we go home without being given any medicine. So, the chemotherapy drug is no longer, cannot be countered by any medication," Nunung said when met in the Tendean area of South Jakarta on Tuesday (19/8/2025).

"Whether you are given a painkiller or anything, it doesn't fight back. Nothing fights back. It really hurts. So, the doctor always just says, 'Be happy, okay?','" Nunung added.

Although there are no absolute prohibitions, she advises breast cancer fighters to be more aware of reducing the consumption of certain foods that could potentially trigger cancer cells.

"Actually, there aren’t too many food restrictions. But we all know that certain foods, like preservatives and grilled foods, should be reduced," she said.

Nunung also shared how she continued to work even while undergoing chemotherapy, a spirit she also sees in Mpok Alpa.

She reminisced about the moment she met the late woman, whose condition had already shown the effects of treatment, yet still chose to keep it a secret from the public.

"That's it, it's just that when it comes to medication, there isn't any. So we just feel the pain until the next chemo, until the next chemo, like that. But thank God I can also manage it. I do chemo and I work. And the late one, during chemo, when she met me, her nails were already blue, she was already bald," she said.

Mpok Alpa's decision not to disclose her illness is highly respected by Nunung. She is committed to keeping her friend's trust by not telling anyone outside of their closest circle about her condition.

"It's just that the late one didn't need to be talked about, didn't want anyone to know. She wanted only the closest people to know. And I also didn't tell anyone else," she concluded.
