Kapanlagi.com - Elly Sugigi could not hold back her tears upon hearing the news about Fahmi Bo who is ill and living alone in a boarding room. She immediately took the initiative to find Fahmi's contact number after seeing a post from Kapanlagi.com's Instagram account.

Elly felt compelled to help, especially since she had known Fahmi personally. She even felt guilty for not being able to assist when her friend had asked for help in the past.

"So here’s the thing, I feel guilty towards him. He once helped me, but at that time I was busy, and coincidentally I was also short on cash. So I have a little fortune, I will help him," said Elly Sugigi when met in the Cibubur area, East Jakarta, Sunday (22/6/2025).

Fahmi's condition, who now lives on the second floor of a boarding house, makes Elly even more touched, especially with his physical state that has made it difficult for him to stand, let alone walk. Elly even contacted the Kapanlagi team to get Fahmi's direct contact.

"That's why I asked the Kapanlagi kids for Fahmi Bo's number, poor thing. No matter what, even though I can't do much, but... How should I say it? It's just sad to see. I can't bear it," said Elly Sugigi while crying.

According to Elly, the life of artists is not as beautiful as many people imagine, especially when they are no longer active in the entertainment world. She believes that the lack of retirement security is a major challenge faced by artists.

"I used to know him, please other artists help. Now artists don't have pensions, right? Artists don't have a bright future, that's what I think," she said.

3. Reflect on the Future

Seeing Fahmi, who is now thin and lying sick, makes Elly reflect on the possibility of experiencing the same thing in the future. She remembers how hard life is for an artist who no longer has a steady income.

"He is thin; he used to be very fat. He once asked for help from me, so it’s not that I’m being boastful or don’t want to talk, but when I saw him, oh my God, it was really tense," she said.

Elly feels scared imagining herself if one day she experiences a similar fate, especially remembering that she is also struggling alone as a single mother. That feeling makes her want to do something for Fahmi Bo even more.

"If this happens to me, what will it be like? When I get old, what will it be like? If I have a stroke, become paralyzed, and can’t walk, I want to help myself," she said.

5. Do Good While You Can

He also invites everyone, especially his artist friends, to share as long as they have the opportunity. Elly believes that even the smallest act of kindness will mean a lot to those in need.

"That's why we should do good to others, while we can, while we are here, we want to help," said Elly Sugigi.

Now, Elly is ready to invite her colleagues to collectively gather assistance for Fahmi Bo. She does not target a large amount; what matters is the intention and sincerity.

"Later I will invite my artist friends, for Fahmi BO, I will invite them. As much sincerity as possible, what matters is sincerity. Elly also highlighted Fahmi's condition, who is now left by his wife and lives alone in a boarding house. Meanwhile, she claimed that she can still move to make a living even though her life is not yet fully stable.

"Left by his wife, only in a boarding house. I am still renting a house, but as a woman, I can still walk, I can still move, I can still earn money here and there. I rely on this ugly voice of mine, I entertain people, sometimes," she revealed.

All this time, Elly is indeed known for her willingness to help fellow artists, especially in terms of work. However, when it comes to financial assistance, she admitted to having limitations, as she is still struggling on her own.

"I help if someone asks for help, just for work, like looking for a job, I help. But if it’s for money, I might not be able to do that, you know. Because I am a single parent who earns money on my own," she concluded.

Elly also recalled that Fahmi once asked for help directly, but at that time, her financial situation was also not feasible. She vowed not to let that happen again if given the chance.

"He asked me to transfer money to him. Coincidentally, I was also, I swear to God, I was really struggling at that time," she said.
