Deep sorrow is felt by the extended family of Najwa Shihab over the passing of her husband, Ibrahim Sjarief Assegaf, who died on Tuesday (20/5/2025) at PON Hospital, East Jakarta. One of the family's friends, musician Armand Maulana, was also present to pay his last respects at the funeral home in the Jeruk Purut area, South Jakarta.

To the media, Armand admitted he was very shocked when he first heard the sad news. He received the information from a WhatsApp group that also contained many friends of the deceased.

"What is clear is that hearing the news about the late Baim was shocking. Earlier this afternoon, I heard it from the WhatsApp group. Apparently, everyone was in a broadcast together. Oh my, Nana's husband," said Armand.

Armand remembers Ibrahim as a good, quiet person who leaves a positive impression every time they meet. Even though they didn't often see each other, Armand admitted to feeling a pleasant aura from the deceased.

"He was indeed a quiet person, kind, and you know how it feels when you meet someone with a nice vibe, right? You can feel it, even without talking. That's what I felt with the deceased," he said.

As someone who rarely appeared in public, the presence of many mourners at the funeral home was proof that the deceased was loved by many circles.

According to Armand, many friends from various walks of life came to bid farewell to Ibrahim.

"The deceased was not an artist, not like Nana the host presenter or anything like that, but so many people came because he was indeed a good person," said Armand.

Armand also shared that he knew Ibrahim because their children were close, attending the same school, Cikal. He admitted that they often met during parent events at the school.

In addition, Armand also conveyed that the extended families of Najwa and Ibrahim are known to be very close to each other, including a close relationship with Najwa's father, Quraish Shihab.

"I think it’s a family that gathers together, continues to come together, and has a very strong brotherhood," he said.
