Objection to Provide Mut'ah and Iddah Alimony of Rp 700 Million, Idham Mase Appeals Divorce to Catherine Wilson

Kapanlagi.com - Idham Mase will appeal the decision of the divorce with Catherine Wilson to the Bandung High Court. This was revealed after obtaining a copy of the decision from the Religious Court of Depok, West Java.

"Yes, I did file an appeal today on June 10th. Because I feel that the judge's decision was wrong," said Idham, on Monday (10/6).

Idham decided to appeal because he objected to the decision regarding iddah and mut'ah alimony. It is known that Idham is required to provide Rp 300 million for iddah alimony and Rp 400 million for mut'ah alimony.

1. Nafkah Mut'ah Too Big

Iddah alimony is the alimony from a former husband to meet the needs of the former wife in terms of food, clothing, and shelter during the iddah period. Meanwhile, mut'ah alimony means material or monetary alimony from a former husband to a former wife as a gift to console the wife's heart.

"For me, it's too big. What was decided in court was Rp 400 million, that's mut'ah. If the iddah is Rp 300 million," said Idham.

Idham feels that the Religious Court of Depok made a mistake because the mut'ah alimony is too big. Idham believes that mut'ah alimony should be given according to each individual's ability.

"I consider it a mistake because it's too much, mut'ah is actually just a gift. Because I was given Rp 400 million, but that's just a gift. How much I can give is based on my ability," he explained.

2. Still Grateful because Keket's Lawsuit was Rejected

In addition, Idham is also grateful because the Panel of Judges of the Depok Religious Court rejected the lawsuit for past alimony requested by the woman known as Keket. Keket requested 800 million in her lawsuit.

"Someone asked for alimony for the time we were together, in the past," he said.

According to Idham, during their marriage, he always provided alimony to Keket. And he has proven it in their divorce court and the result was that Keket's lawsuit was not accepted.

"It was rejected because it was proven that I always gave. So her request was rejected," he concluded.
