Okie Agustina Reveals Kiesha Alvaro's Struggles That Never Relied on His Father's Name

"Actually, Kiesha is a child who is both easy and difficult; he has been living alone since he was little," said Okie Agustina when met in the Hang Tuah area, South Jakarta, on Monday (3/7/2025).

Kiesha's responsibility to help her family has been felt since an early age, making her childhood pass by just like that.   "She lost her childhood because she had to help her mom earn money, so maybe thankfully Kiesha is the type of child who has always wanted to make her mom happy since she was little," she said.

As a mother, Okie never demands anything extravagant, just to be a good and humble child.   "Since she was little, she always said 'I want to make mom happy, I want to make mom happy,' and as a parent, I can only pray and remind her," she said.

This former wife of Pasha Ungu always instills the value that success does not mean forgetting one's roots, let alone being arrogant because of family status.   "I always say that if one day you become a great person, never forget that you were once at the bottom," she said.

According to her, Kiesha's achievements in the acting world are not due to her father's name, but the result of her personal hard work.   "Kiesha didn't just suddenly rise, even though she has the label of being Pasha Ungu's child, but since she was little, she never relied on that," said Okie.  

Okie is proud because her child found her own path without relying on her father's big name.   "She didn't grow up in music, she grew up in acting on her own terms, and as a parent, alhamdulillah, it's not difficult and not easy either," she said.

In her parenting style, Okie is never rigid as a mother, but flexible in adjusting to Kiesha's character.   "If I were strict as a mother, she would definitely rebel, so I position myself as a sister, a friend, a mother, and a best friend," she said.

Her closeness with Kiesha is built on fluid communication and mutual trust, not pressure.   "So there are times when I, as a mother, advise my child, and there are times when I am also a friend to Kiesha, who becomes a place to share and vent," she said.

Okie chooses to be a safe space for her child, rather than Kiesha seeking support outside that may not be good.   "Rather than her confiding in others and being led to the wrong paths, it's better if she comes to me; I also become a sister," she concluded.
