Once Desperate, Ammar Zoni Admits He Can't Handle It in Nusakambangan

Dr. Kamelia, Ammar's girlfriend, added that the high-risk status assigned to Ammar should only apply to major traffickers. She believes that Ammar is a victim of drug abuse who needs medical assistance at a rehabilitation center, not criminalized in a high-risk prison.

"If we conclude that Ammar is a user, a victim of drug abuse. This means he needs rehabilitation, not criminalization. So we are still waiting for evidence of him being a trafficker; where is the assessment? Because high risk refers to traffickers who fall into the high-risk category," Kamelia asserted.

Ammar Zoni was sentenced to seven years in prison in his latest drug case and arrived at Nusakambangan on Saturday morning, May 9, 2026. This transfer is based on the classification of high-risk inmates, placing him in the Karang Anyar prison under super maximum security.

The family is currently preparing materials to file for a Judicial Review (PK) against the sentence received by Ammar. Panji hopes that this legal effort can provide relief for his brother, whom he believes is someone who is unwell.

Panji also reminisces about how Ammar always needed spiritual support to endure his difficult times. The physical absence of family in Nusakambangan is predicted to worsen the psychological condition of the 32-year-old actor.
