"Thank God when I came back, the old fans were not too shocked by the new appearance. At first, I was like, how was it back then when I dressed sexy as the band’s vocalist, there was that feeling. But apparently, the fans' reactions were just accepting," she said when met in the Fatmawati area, South Jakarta, Thursday (25/7/2024).

Delia also mentioned that fans enjoy their songs and her voice more than just paying attention to her appearance.  

She also tries to adjust her appearance to stay comfortable by wearing casual clothes and sneakers while performing.

"Because they like the songs, the voice. When I perform, they enjoy the performance. And I can adjust a bit, if I’m in a band I go casual, wear sneakers so that people feel comfortable seeing me in a hijab," said Delia. 

After returning to the band some time ago, Delia revealed that they have just released one single. However, Ecoutez is currently also preparing their latest album.

"Because I just separated for 12 years, now it feels like we need to go through the process again to create songs together, so we are not in a hurry, just taking our time with the process. But God willing, it will be released this year," he stated. 

Regarding the changes in Ecoutez currently, Delia explained that even though the concept remains, they want to attract the attention of a new generation, especially Generation Z, who might not be very familiar with their music from the early 2000s.

For the concept of the latest songs, Ecoutez maintains its characteristics, but they also want to attract Generation Z by incorporating elements that match their tastes in the new songs.

"The concept is definitely that if Ecoutez's red thread is still the same, then with my return, the character of Ecoutez is further strengthened by my vocal character," he explained.

"The difference is, we still want to be ourselves, the main difference is that we want to attract the attention of the new generation, Gen Z," he concluded.

Because in my time, in 2005-2006, there might be many younger Gen Z who are not familiar with Ecoutez, so what we focus on for the new songs is how to make the songs also resonate with Gen Z's ears," he closed.
