"I'm really happy because it represents Asian Culture, how Asian filmmakers have started to show their teeth in terms of storytelling, storytelling concepts, and even technical cinematography," said Oka Antara when met in Thamrin, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (11/2) afternoon.

For actors involved in the film THE RAID, PARASITE represents a depiction of Asian culture. For them, everything presented by director Bong Joon Ho is deserving of an Oscar because it has a very different storytelling aspect.
"From the reference of foreign films that have started to become stale in my opinion, comes a fresher Asian filmmaker in terms of directing, even in acting, and daring to use their mother tongue. Proudly and even showing that films are not only owned by Hollywood and the West, but also belong to the whole world," he said.
Furthermore, Oka also stated that this is an opportunity for Bong Joon Ho to be known worldwide. He even acknowledged the collaboration between filmmakers and producers in publicizing PARASITE was very successful.
"Bong Joon Ho has already made great films since THE HOST, SNOWPIERCER, MEMORIES OF MURDER, but it seems that to enter the Oscars, publicity is needed. So, the filmmaker and producer of the filmmaker must provide funds and time to promote their film at the Oscars, it's not just random," said Oka.
For a 38-year-old man, Indonesian films can also be like PARASITE. As long as there is good cooperation between filmmakers, producers, and publicists.
"In my opinion, Indonesian filmmakers are all ready, it's just a matter of whether they are willing to dedicate everything just to push their work to be screened by Oscar jurors," he concluded.
