Parody of Latuconsina Clan, Andre Taulany and Rina Nose Threatened with 6 Years in Prison

Kapanlagi.com - The Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Commissioner Pol Yusri Yunus, confirmed the report from a resident with the initials RL to the police regarding the statements made by Andre Taulany and Rina Nose. The report was received by the Jakarta Metropolitan Police on Monday, (5/18) at around 16.00 WIB.

"Two suspects were reported here, the first is AT and the second is RN, a woman. So, the suspects and their families felt that they did not accept the two suspects during one of the live TV shows where someone mentioned, parodied the surname of this complainant's extended family. As a result, the complainant's extended family has now reported the person to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police," said Yusri when contacted by the media on Tuesday, (5/19).

Currently, the report has been received by the Jakarta Metro Police and will be further examined. After this, the police will summon the accused and witnesses to clarify this matter.

"First, the reporter and the witnesses presented. Then, secondly, the accused and several other witnesses. Well, if everything has been gathered, including evidence and other statements, then we will hold a case hearing. Because this is still at the investigation level," he explained.

2. 6 Years in Prison

If Andre and Rina are proven guilty as accused by the reporter, they could face imprisonment. In accordance with the defamation article submitted, Rina and Andre could be sentenced to 6 years.

"Article 27 paragraph 3 of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law, article 45 regarding defamation. The punishment is around six years, so we will try to check later," he said.

3. Pandemic

With Indonesia still being affected by the coronavirus pandemic, the police will continue to strive for the summoning of witnesses and suspects. Therefore, the police are not in a rush to bring both parties together.

"The current situation is a COVID-19 pandemic. The one who is summoned... This is a clarification first, right? Usually, the invitees are afraid of getting infected, and the ones inviting are also very afraid of getting infected," he added.
