Marshel Widianto, endorsed by the Gerindra Party, will be a candidate for Vice Mayor of South Tangerang. The comedian will accompany Ahmad Riza Patria in the 2024 Regional Election contest.

Marshel admits that being paired with Ahmad Riza Patria feels mismatched to him. However, he is currently trying to improve himself.

"It can be said that there is a stark contrast between me and Ahmad Riza Patria, like Bintaro and Ciputat. Many say that this is a joke and so on," said Marshel, interviewed in the Mampang Prapatan area, South Jakarta, on Monday (8/7/2024).

"But I can prove that I can stand at this point, out of poverty, out of joking," he continued.

Marshel Widianto's progress is supported by his wife, Yansen Indiani alias Cesen. Although it is acknowledged that the former JKT48 member was initially worried.

"She was worried because this is a new pond. She was afraid that I would do things that could make me more stressed and so on," said Ttur, the comedian.

"But finally my wife supported me. Because as people say, there are many problems out there but coming home is returning. So finally my wife still supports me," said Marshel.

Knowing Cesen's worries, Marshel Widianto slowly explained. So finally his wife gave full support.

"That's actually a family matter. But what I can tell is I tell her 'This is what I will do, dear, this is what I will arrange, this is what I will change from my other mistakes'. And finally my wife believes and supports," said Marshel.
