Comedian Sapri Pantun or bang Sapri has passed away. He passed away after struggling with his diabetes.
Ilyas, the late Sapri's brother, mentioned the illness his brother experienced. He admitted that Sapri had been suffering from this disease for a while.
"Actually, I didn't endure this pain for long, it just started to feel and this is the result," he said when met at the funeral home RT 012 RW 04, Cipulir Village, Kebayoran Lama District, South Jakarta, Monday night (11/5/2021).
He had a discussion with his family because the doctor suggested that Sapri be given a ventilator. Even Ilyas cried when he saw his brother's condition at that time.
"Earlier, I was called by the doctor who was treating Sapri and was asked to use a ventilator for breathing. I then discussed it with my family. We were trying to do our best, and finally, it was agreed to use a ventilator. Honestly, I cried in the ICU room, I said hopefully this is the best, honestly, I couldn't bear to see my brother using a ventilator. Maybe this is the best for him," he added.
Sapri is known to have been critical before Maghrib, and finally passed away at 18:30 WIB.
"Earlier, he was critical before Maghrib at half past five, and passed away at 18:30 WIB," he said.
Ilyas provides a chronology of Sapri being treated at the hospital. Starting from Wednesday admitted to the hospital, until Friday night his condition dropped.
"When I went there on Wednesday, when it wasn't too serious, I gave him encouragement, 'Brother, don't think about anything, just focus on getting better. Alhamdulillah, on Thursday he was healthy. I even believed he would be moved to the ward. But the reality was that from Friday night to Saturday, his condition worsened, his blood sugar levels increased. Then the doctor said he had to have surgery as soon as possible to prevent it from spreading, and finally the surgery was on Sunday, and he was put on a ventilator," he concluded.
