Paula Verhoeven and Baim Wong Attend the Hearing, Communicating Amidst the Divorce Process

Kapanlagi.com - The divorce process of Baim Wong and Paula Verhoeven continues at the South Jakarta Religious Court on Tuesday (5/3/2025). This hearing featured a fact witness to provide testimony in front of the panel of judges.

"So earlier, our hearing presented a fact witness. We cannot disclose what the witness said because it relates to the material of the hearing," said Alvon Kurnia Palma, Paula's lawyer, when met after the hearing.

Alvon also explained that this hearing proceeded as usual, with a question-and-answer process between both parties. "If the hearing is tough or not, well, that’s what a hearing is, question-and-answer. That is indeed the normal process," he explained.

When asked about the witness presented, Alvon mentioned that the witness is a close friend of Baim. However, he did not provide further details regarding the witness's testimony.

On the other hand, Paula drew attention as she was seen leaving the courtroom with what was described as a swollen face. However, her lawyer denied this news. "She wasn’t crying. Who said she was crying? That’s not true, her eyes were watery," asserted Alvon.

1. Communication is Going Well

Furthermore, Alvon also explained the communication between Paula and Baim during the hearing. According to him, the communication between both parties went well and was facilitated by the panel of judges.

"It was good, two-way, and facilitated by the judge. So, one speaks, the other listens, and so on," he said.

2. Domestic Violence Issues

Regarding the issue of domestic violence (DV) that had arisen, Alvon declined to comment. "I won't answer that because there is material from the trial. This is a closed hearing to provide privacy for each party," he explained.

He also emphasized the importance of the credibility of the evidence presented in court. "Electronic evidence must be credible and authentic. If not, it is not valid and cannot be considered in the trial process," Alvon stated.

The next hearing is scheduled to take place in a week with the agenda still listening to the factual witness statements from Paula's side. "Next week from now, the agenda is still factual witnesses," Alvon concluded.
